Trauma is something that doesn’t happen only once in life. If you choose to be dark because of it, dark you will be. If you choose to be bigger than it, nothing can take you down. – Flora Sofia

Every woman wants to feel beautiful and be appreciated by who we are. There is always something we want to change or improve about our physical appearance and it is normal to resort to magazines, TV, and the internet for examples to follow. However, there may be something missing: what you want.

You were born you and not Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, or Kim Kardashian; therefore you’ll probably be better off being authentically you, rather than giving your power away hoping that the examples out there will make you beautiful.

It is simple math: the same way one diet is not perfect for everyone, nor will be every fashion trend, haircut, or implant.

There are many things available to us women these days to improve the quality of our lives and that is a wonderful thing! Where there is a glitch is not on what we do, but on why we do what we do.

In the same way “not all that shines is gold,” not all that the media feeds you is good for you. Why? It’s simple: mass media doesn’t consider who you are as an individual. The only person who knows (or has the best potential to know) all that you are about is you.

So here is a question: how would your life change if you improved your personal image based on leveraging who you are, your natural beauty, and natural assets, instead of doing everything in your power to keep up with the Joneses?

My invitation for you in this new beauty concept is to pause for a moment and think what is in your best interest before you make a decision related to your body, your private life, your family life, your finances, and all else that is important to you.

What really matters is what you think about you, not what others do.
